Industrial Visit to Vaishvik Foods, Khandala

As part of its experiential learning initiatives, IndSearch Institute of Management Studies & Research, Pune, organised an industrial visit to Vaishvik Foods, Khandala, on 10 October 2026. More than 80 students, accompanied by faculty members, participated in the visit.

The students were divided into three batches, guided by Dr. Suwarna Shidore and Mr. Santosh Shetty (Batch 1), Prof. Pradeep Deshpande (Batch 2), and Dr. Harish Padmanabhan and Prof. Ritesh Giri (Batch 3).

The Quality Control Managers at Vaishvik Foods explained and demonstrated the various stages of food processing and packaging. Students observed the processes of purchasing, sorting, storage, quality control, packaging and dispatch of products such as black olives, green olives, jalapeños and red paprika.

The visit provided practical insights into operations management, inventory management, quality assurance, packaging and supply chain operations. It helped students connect classroom concepts with real-world industrial practices and understand the importance of hygiene, systematic storage and product quality.

The visit was warmly organised by Ms. Vidula and her team, who ensured a welcoming and enriching learning experience for the IndSearch delegation.

An encouraging outcome was that some undergraduate students began exploring the idea of starting their own food businesses, recognising the entrepreneurial opportunities available in the food-processing industry.

The visit was a valuable experiential learning initiative that enhanced students’ industry exposure and encouraged them to explore future career and entrepreneurial opportunities.
